Margaret Craft faithfully gives her time, talent and resources to the ministry of Channels in so many ways. As a retired business owner and an artist, she brings a wealth of experience to Channels. She serves on the board of directors which meets monthly, plays the keyboard for hymn singing, has given her own artwork for Creative Channels Art Sales, and helps us with planning and implementing fundraisers. She teaches clients art, most of whom have never painted before. The clients are so proud of what she has helped them to accomplish!
She also comes regularly to Bible studies and other client events. She loves our clients and staff well, always asking what else she can do to help; we love having her involved in all that she does. Her calm, sweet spirit brings encouragement to those around her.
Margaret has been a member at Brainerd Presbyterian Church for many years. She represents her church on the Channels Board of Directors. She has been through many hardships, yet continues to be a shining light for Christ in all that she does.
Margaret said, “When I retired in 2009, I prayed that God would find a place for me to serve him, using whatever talents I may have. As a Deacon at Brainerd Presbyterian and a member of the missions committee I had an opportunity to visit Channels to see how I could get involved. At my first visit, I felt surrounded by love and acceptance. I felt as if I had stumbled into a new home. I truly love everyone at Channels and look forward to seeing them every Tuesday for Bible Study. I enjoy playing the keyboard for hymn singing, listening to our great Bible Study teachers, and talking with clients during lunch. Working with our COL art group has been so much fun. God has blessed me in so many ways as the staff, clients, and volunteers get a chance to encourage each other. I hope to continue my involvement with Channels for many years and encourage others to get involved. Susan and Ginger can find a use for everyone’s skills and talents.”
