Volunteer Spotlight – Dawn Gross
Dawn Gross has been a volunteer at Channels of Love for 20 years– since 2000!! In November of 2000, COL’s fund-raiser was a Michael Card concert, and Dawn was there. When one of the staff got up and started talking about volunteer opportunities and mentioned cooking, it sparked Dawn’s interest. Immediately, she began cooking the third Tuesday of every month for the Tuesday Bible Study and has been cooking for us now for 20 years! And she is such a good cook, bringing in delicious and unique meals over and over again. Dawn states, “Channels of Love is like a family to me, and over the years I have gotten to know the staff and the people who come there well. I really love them!” She added that she has sorely missed cooking during this time when we have not been able to have in-house Bible Studies and can’t wait to return in July.
Dawn has been on staff at Calvary Chapel for 14 years, but she was also one of the first members when it began in 2000. True to her nature, she is diligent persevering and loyal, and while she continued to work pursued an accounting degree to make her more effective in her work at Calvary. She is glad to be on the other side of that now, because she enjoys being very active, including riding her bike, walking in the mornings, volunteering and cooking for others, camping, and going on mission trips when the opportunity arises, especially to Israel, having been there five different times.
We feel beyond blessed to have such a loyal, loving, and faithful volunteer and friend!
